Heritage Walk at AISSMS Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military Primary School on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 9 AM. This event commemorates the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which took place on June 6, 1674, at Raigad. The highlight of this walk will be the exploration of the first monolithic equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Pune, a notable piece of world sculpture created by the renowned sculptor Nanasahib Karmarkar. This statue, along with the panels depicting the Shiv Rajyabhishek, offers a remarkable insight into the rich history and cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the historical significance of Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation and the artistic excellence behind the sculptures commemorating this event. The walk will be held at Shri Shivaji Maharaj Primary School, located near the RTO Office in Sangamwadi, Shivajinagar, Pune. Organized by Worship Earth Foundation in collaboration with Club Heritage and the Department of History at Desai College, this event is supported by Maharashtra Times as the media partner.
