On 11th February 2024, Worship Earth Foundation in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) organized the My River My Valentine initiative, where thousands of Punekars joined hands to clean the Mula-Mutha River. The drive collected nearly 4.5 tonnes of dry waste, showcasing the power of collective action for a sustainable future. Schools, colleges, and social organizations came together, taking a cleanliness pledge, followed by a rally from Bhide Bridge, and impactful performances including folk music and street plays to spread awareness on river conservation.
What made 2024 truly special was the expansion of the initiative to 8 districts across Maharashtra – Pune, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Wardha, Nagpur, Satara, Latur, and Jalna – with the active participation of over 10,000 volunteers, students, and citizens. The event became a statewide citizens’ movement, uniting people from different regions under the vision of a cleaner and healthier environment. Through cultural performances and youth participation, the message of protecting rivers reached every corner, marking 2024 as a milestone year in the journey of My River My Valentine.
